What to include in a bug report

Controller behaviour varies a lot between browsers, drivers and connection types, so a few extra lines save a long back and forth. When something reads wrong, tell us:

  • The exact controller model, for example Xbox Series X pad model 1914 or DualSense CFI-ZCT1W.
  • How it is connected: USB cable, Bluetooth, or a wireless dongle.
  • Your browser and version, plus the operating system.
  • Which page you were on and what you expected to see instead.
  • The controller ID string shown on the button mapping test, if the pad is detected at all.

Before you write

A large share of messages are connection problems rather than site bugs, and most of those are solved in a couple of minutes. If your pad is not showing up, work through the setup guide first: press a face button after plugging in, try a different USB port or a cable known to carry data, and check that no other app such as Steam Input has grabbed the device exclusively. If the pad appears but a specific feature is missing, the tool page for that test explains which browsers and controllers support it.

Suggesting a new test

The bench grew from user requests, so suggestions genuinely shape it. Tell us what you are trying to diagnose and what a good result would look like, not just the feature name. Requests that cover a real hardware failure mode, for example trigger stop wear or SOCD behaviour on arcade sticks, move to the front of the queue. Browse all tools first to check whether something close already exists.
